Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about plans, security, onboarding, and support.
We combine managed operations with privacy-focused open-source software and European hosting. That means fewer vendor lock-in risks, clearer ownership boundaries, and a practical support model.
Our applications are deployed on high available infrastructure using high available configurations. Making the chance on downtime as small as possible.
Open source gives transparency, flexibility, and portability. You are not tied to a single vendor roadmap, and your stack can evolve with your needs.
We actively build on open-source projects, contribute fixes and improvements when possible, and share operational feedback from real-world production usage. We also help users adopt open-source alternatives through implementation guidance and support.
Also our aim is to financially support open-source projects that align with our mission and values.
We ourselves also use open-source software to run our platform.
At the base of our infrastructure is Kubernetes, which provides a scalable and resilient platform for running applications.
We automate using ArgoCD, Ansible, Terraform and other automation tools to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.
For observability and reliability we use open-source tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and centralized logging.
Applications used are similar to those we offer to our users, including Nextcloud, OpenProject, Gitea/GitLab, and Vaultwarden.
Other tools we use to make all this possible are:
- Fluentd for log aggregation,
- Cert-Manager for SSL/TLS management,
- CloudNativePG for PostgreSQL management,
- Traefik for Load Balancing,
- Authentik for Single Sign-On.
We run workloads on European infrastructure providers and can support both shared and dedicated environments. Deployment location can be selected based on your operational, compliance, and data residency requirements.
Our current preferred public cloud providers are Linode and Hetzner.
Common examples:
- Jira: OpenProject
- Confluence: AFFiNE (and similar knowledge tools)
- GitHub: Gitea or GitLab (depending on your requirements)
